Farewell / A modo de despedida

This is my last Newsletter, after two busy and enjoyable years at Colegio EuroAmericano. I am sad to be leaving, but proud of the achievements made by the school in that time. Staff have worked tirelessly towards the implementation of the IB philosophy, students have risen to the challenge of the new programmes and are enjoying the new resources that allow true student inquiry. The IB Diploma Programme is now fully authorised, with Grade 11 students studying hard towards the final exams in November next year.

The new Principal will be arriving in October to lead the school to even greater achievements with the planned implementation of the PYP and MYP programmes. He has a dedicated and enthusiastic team of teachers and non-teaching staff who I know will work effectively towards the desired authorisation of these programmes.

I would like to thank everyone for their support in making it possible to implement the IB Diploma in such a short time. After many years working in International Schools around the world, I am now looking forward to return to my homeland, Great Britain. I take with me many delightful memories of Peru and hope to return one day. I wish you all a great future in which you continue our mission of "preparing students for success in a globalised world".

Este es mi último boletín, después de dos intensos y maravillosos años en el Colegio Euroamericano. Me entristece partir, pero me siento orgulloso de los logros alcanzados por la escuela en este tiempo. El equipo de profesores ha trabajado incansablemente en la puesta en marcha de la filosofía del IB, mientras que los estudiantes han asumido el reto de los nuevos programas y gozan ahora de los nuevos recursos que les permiten fortalecer un verdadero espíritu de investigación. El programa del Diploma IB está ahora completamente autorizado y los alumnos del onceavo grado están preparando los exámenes para noviembre del próximo año.

El nuevo director arribará en octubre para conducir la escuela hacia metas mayores, con la implementación de los programas PYP y MYP. él contará con un dedicado equipo de profesores y personal administrativo que, estoy seguro, trabajará eficientemente con miras a obtener la autorización de estos programas.

Me gustaría agradecer a cada uno de ustedes por su apoyo para lograr la implementación del Diploma IB en un tiempo relativamente corto. Después de muchos años trabajando en diversos colegios internacionales alrededor del mundo, estoy retornando a mi lugar de origen, Gran Bretaña. Llevo conmigo magníficos recuerdos del Perú y tengo la esperanza de que algún día volveré. Les deseo a cada uno de ustedes un auspicioso futuro, continuando nuestra misión de preparar estudiantes para el éxito en un mundo globalizado.
