Reports to:    The Owner

Job Purpose

  • To provide leadership for the school
  • To take overall responsibility for the quality of student learning

Key Tasks

Leadership & Management

To develop the school’s philosophy, methodologies and management structure in a manner consistent with the owner’s aims of establishing a high quality international school.   

This will include:

  • Providing curriculum leadership
  • Developing and implementing a school development plan
  • Chairing a leadership team consisting of academic and pastoral coordinators
  • Meeting regularly with the whole academic faculty
  • Chairing the parent delegates’ meetings
  • Managing the administration team
  • Overseeing staff appointments, welfare, appraisal and discipline
  • Organising an appropriate professional development programme

Marketing

To assist the owner in marketing the school by :

  • Providing detailed information on the curriculum
  • Providing up-to-date information for the website
  • Preparing materials for the school brochure
  • Establishing contact with potential sources of new students
  • Representing the school at functions
  • Developing professional relationships with other schools
  • Giving presentations to potential parents

Administration

Be responsible for the smooth administration of the school by:

  • Overseeing the whole-school budget
  • Liaising with examination boards and other professional bodies
  • Maintaining regular communication with parents
  • Monitoring correspondence between school and parents
  • Establishing clear job descriptions and contracts
