Students at Colegio EuroAmericano will be using on-line systems as part of their curriculum projects.  They must agree to obey the relevant codes of conduct and forum guidelines.
Students must also obtain written authorization from their parents or guardians before participating.

Please use the internet sensibly and thoughtfully, but make sure you have fun too!

Stay Safe

• Only use your first name or username. Please do not use your or anyone else’s surname anywhere on the site.
• Don’t give out your home address or telephone number.
• Keep your password secret. Don’t give it to anyone, including friends, parents or even pets.
• Your teacher will arrange any meetings between schools. Don’t arrange to meet other people yourself.

Language

• Use polite and respectful language – no swearing or bullying please. Try to avoid using!!!!!! and ALL CAPITAL LETTERS – it can get a bit difficult to read.
  
• If you see others using bad language, do not reply.  Report it as abuse and tell your teacher.
  
• Use plain English and avoid slang words and txt spk. Many people you meet will speak English as a second language.

Material

• Only upload files to that you have definitely been given permission to use. Please don’t infringe anyone’s copyright.

Actions

• Remember you are talking to real people, possibly from a different country. Always respect their feelings and opinions, even when they are different from yours
• Be patient. If someone doesn’t reply to you immediately it may be because they don’t have the same access to computer equipment / bandwidth you do, and schools in other countries often have holidays at different times.
  
• If you see anybody breaking the rules, use the report abuse button found on most pages and tell your teacher immediately.

Facilitators

• Facilitators and teachers will be looking round and dealing with any issues. If you do not follow this Code of Conduct, your teacher may be informed and you may be banned from using the internet.
  
  

Forum Guidelines

Make the Subject Descriptive

• When you give your post a subject, it should be a few words that summarise the post.
• Example of a descriptive subject: 'Uploading an Image for my Page'.
• Example of an unhelpful subject: 'Help Me Please!'.
  

Remenber that Everyone Here is a Real Person!

• Although we are interacting through a computer screen, real people are reading your words, so please choose them wisely.
• We all have different cultures, religions, opinions and hopes.
• Rather than saying that someone else is 'wrong', try to learn something from that difference of opinion.
• Avoid making 'jokes' that may cause offence.
• Encourage others, connect with them and enjoy each others' company!
  

Express Yourself clearly!

• Many people here do not speak English as their native language.
• Avoid using slang words that others will not understand.
• Avoid using ALL CAPITAL LETTERS - they suggest that the person is SHOUTING, and no one likes being shouted at.

• Read the previous posts in the forum.

Código de conducta “On Line” Colegio Euroamericano

En el Colegio Euroamericano los estudiantes harán uso de sistemas “on line” como parte de los proyectos del currículo.

Por lo tanto se espera que el estudiante acepte y obedezca las pautas y reglas del foro.

Los estudiantes necesitarán una autorización escrita por parte de sus padres ó tutores.

Seguridad

• Solo usa tu primer nombre o tu nombre de usuario. Por favor no usar tu apellido ni el de otra persona en ningún lugar de la web.
• No des tu dirección ni número de teléfono a nadie.
• Mantén tu clave secreta, no se la des a nadie eso incluye a tus amigos, padres y hasta tu mascota.
• Tu profesor a cargo organizará los encuentros entre escuelas. No te arriesgues a organizar encuentros con personas extrañas.

Lenguaje

• Por favor usa lenguaje cortés y respetuoso-no uses lenguaje inadecuado. No uses  ¡!!!!!!!!, NI LETRAS MAYÚSCULAS PORQUE SE HACE DIFÍCIL LEER EL MENSAJE.
• Si ves a otras personas usando lenguaje no apropiado, no respondas. Repórtalo a un profesor.
• Responde en Inglés de forma clara evitando el usar jergas y lenguaje de texto o sms. Muchas de las personas que conocerás hablarán Inglés/Español como segunda lengua y no podrán entender lo que tratas de decir.

Material

• No instales o publiques material del que no has obtenido permiso de usar. Por favor no infrinjas las leyes de derecho de autor.

Comportamiento

• Recuerda que estarás conversando con personas de diferentes países y culturas. Respeta sus opiniones y sentimientos aunque sean diferentes a los tuyos.
• Ten paciencia, si alguien no te responde  de inmediato puede ser que esa persona no tenga acceso fácil a un equipo de computación o el sistema que usan no sea del mismo tipo de banda que el tuyo.  También recuerda que muchos colegios en otros países tienen sus vacaciones en diferentes épocas del año.
• Si ves a alguien abusando del sistema o rompiendo las reglas repórtalo a un profesor o usa el botón para reportar abusos, este se encuentra en muchas de las páginas.

Ayuda

• Ayudantes y profesores estarán presentes para ofrecer ayuda y lidiar con cualquier problema. Si no acatas las reglas del código de conducta, tu profesor será informado y tu podrías ser sancionado de usar los servicios de Internet.

Pautas del Foro

Asegúrate de exponer el tema en forma clara

• Cuando le das nombre al tema a tratar en tu correo debes tener en cuenta el usar mensajes cortos que resuman el contenido de tu mensaje.
• Ejemplo de  un tema descriptivo: “Mandando imagen de mi página”.
• Ejemplo de  una descripción de poca ayuda: “¡Ayuda por favor!”.

Recuerda que todas las personas son seres humanos

• Aunque nos estemos comunicando a través de una computadora las personas con las que interactúas leerán lo que envías, por eso debes de pensar bien lo que vas a escribir.
• Todos nosotros tenemos diferentes culturas, religiones, opiniones y aspiraciones.
• En vez de decir que una persona esta errada, trata de aprender algo de esa diferencia de opinión.
• Evita el compartir bromas que puedan ofender a alguien que proviene de una cultura o religión diferente a la tuya.
• Anima a otros , conéctate con ellos y disfruta de su compañía

Exprésate claramente

• Muchos estudiantes no hablan Inglés/Español como lengua materna.
• Evita el usar jerga que otros no puedan entender.
• No usar letras MAYÚSCULAS-  Das la impresión de estar enojado o GRITANDO!. A nadie le gusta que le griten.

• Revisa la sección de ayuda (y la sección de proyectos , si es relevante) para comprobar si hay una respuesta a tu pregunta.
• Lee las entradas de correo anteriores.
